Brian Nugent is the founder and principal partner of the firm. In his practice, he represents businesses and their owners and management throughout the country in the areas of employment law, corporate formation and existence, litigation, including regulatory defense, contract drafting, review and negotiation, all areas of business law, and mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Nugent also has extensive experience in representing employers in the temporary staffing, professional employer organization (a/k/a employee leasing), and human resources outsourcing (HRO) industries, and regularly draws on that experience in providing advice and counsel to these organizations and other businesses.

Mr. Nugent received his undergraduate degree in business from Florida State University in 1981 and his law degree from Wake Forest University School of Law in 1984. While at Wake Forest University School of Law, Mr. Nugent served as an editor on the Wake Forest law review.

In 1997, Brian became the General Counsel of Outsource International, Inc. (OSI), a national temporary staffing company. In his capacity as general counsel, he led the Company's public offering in October 1997. OSI also owned Synadyne, a professional employer organization (PEO). There he gained valuable experience in employment matters as applied to joint employer relationships. At OSI, Mr. Nugent also completed more than twenty-five acquisitions.

In 2000, Mr. Nugent accepted the position of Chief Legal Officer of AdvanTech Solutions, a national PEO in Tampa, Florida. AdvanTech Solutions grew to over 20,000 worksite employees in forty-four states during his tenure.

Brian Nugent has been an active member of the National Association of Professional Employer Organizations ("NAPEO"), and regularly publishes articles on employment and co-employment topics. He is also a frequent presenter of employment, PEO, HRO, and temporary staffing issues at various professional association meetings and conferences. Brian has been a member of NAPEO's Legal Advisory Council since its inception, and is a past chair of the council.

Mr. Nugent is a graduate of Leadership Orlando and Leadership Tallahassee. He has also been active in numerous civic and charitable organization, including the board of directors of the Tallahassee Sports Council where he served as Chairman, and Florida Special Olympics, where he served as a board member for ten years and also served as Chairman.

Mr. Nugent is admitted to practice law in good standing in the state of Colorado and Florida, and has extensive experience in the multi-state environment of many PEOs and temporary staffing companies. His areas of expertise are:
